MA 65 Gallon Gas & Electric Geyser
The MA 65 Gallon Gas & Electric Geyser is a dual-fuel (hybrid) storage water heater with a 10/12 gauge steel tank. It heats on gas when gas is available and on electricity when it is not, so low winter gas pressure does not leave you without hot water.
How it works
This geyser has a gas burner and an electric heating element in one unit. Both are operated manually: you light and adjust the gas burner by hand, and switch the electric element on when you want to use electricity. It is the lowest-cost way to get both fuel options.
What 10/12 gauge means
The 10/12 in the name is the gauge of the steel sheet used for the water tank. Gauge works in reverse: the lower the number, the thicker the steel. Thicker steel copes better with water pressure and resists rust and leakage for longer, which is what decides how many winters a geyser lasts. This is the super heavy tank in the MA range.
